about

Nikki Ollive (They/Them) uses a variety of media to create works that interact with the human form, and explore the ideas of story, transformation, finding beauty in the unlovable and the weight of history upon the present. They favor mediums traditionally seen as craft rather than the fine arts, finding the craftsmanship and history of these media as an important part of their artistic conversation.

They received their Bachelor of Fine Arts with an Emphasis in Metalsmithing from ASU in 2012. They spent over a decade in the Fine Jewelry industry doing benchwork, manufacturing coordination, ghost designing, and product photography. Since then they have refocused in their own work, hoping to marry the lessons from their time in the jewelry industry with a more artistic outlook.

When not making art Nikki participates in historical costuming and cosplay, where they have been recognized for their skill in craftsmanship. They also enjoy making music, playing harp, mandolin and singing, as well as playing video games and table top roleplaying games.
